Soil & Compost

At Poplar Nurseries we stock a wide range of soils and composts as we believe that having and using the correct compost is paramount to the success of any plant and garden.

We have knowledgeable staff willing to advise on the correct product to choose from and how to use it for best results.

Main brands that we stock are Westland, Levington and Miracle-gro.

We also have available for delivery, or to take away, bulk bags of soil, soil mixes and bark.

Bulk bags

Meadow top soil

Our basic mixed topsoil with added grit for improved drainage and to reduce soil compaction.

Suitable for bulking up existing soil levels or to incorporate within home- made composts. Requires the addition of fertilisers.

Enriched top soil

A blended mixture of sieved and sterilized topsoil, grit, fine chipped bark, a small proportion of peat matter together with slow acting fertilizers.

An excellent all round soil blend.

Soil improver

A matured blended media containing a mixture of shredded plant and twig matter together with a proportion of top soil. This soil is ideal to use as a top dressing for flower beds, or to use within the vegetable plot.

Border bark

A blended mixture of coarsely shredded barks. Ideal for use on flower beds to aid as a weed suppressant and to help retain moisture.
