Half-term at Poplar

Get half-term off to a flying start with a visit to Poplar.

From plants, outdoor living and a range of delicious treats, plus train rides around our gardens and a children’s Treasure Hunt Trail, pop in to discover more this half-term.

Poplar Miniature Railway:

Restaurant:

Our restaurant is the perfect place to stop and relax for a while serving breakfast or lunch as well as coffee and cake. We have ample seating inside, outside and in our conservatory which overlooks the play area, gardens and miniature railway. As well as our seasonally changing menu, we also offer a variety of Afternoon Teas including Traditional, Savoury and Children’s options. New for 2025 is our Seafood Platter Afternoon Tea (pictured below) which is already proving popular.

Poplar Food Hall:

Don’t miss a trip to our Food Hall where you will find delicious local and British produce and fresh home cooked dishes, meats, cheeses and much more from our deli counter. Did you know that you can pick up a picnic from our Food Hall? If you are heading off on a day during half-term drop in and see us on your way and we can have your picnic ready in no time.

Our 3,000 sq ft Food Hall is located next to the entrance of the main Garden Centre.

The garden and outdoor living:

For those who are keen to spend time in the garden, there will be plenty here for the half-term week including summer bedding plants, herbs and vegetable plants as well as our usual seasonal plant displays. Take a leisurely wander around our plant displays to gain ideas and inspiration for your garden.

Visit our huge Outdoor Living department for garden furniture, barbecues and accessories. Of course, you will also find everything else you would expect to find at a garden centre including statues, water features, all the gardening equipment you could possibly imagine, plus a Home and Gift Department with something to suit all.
