There is nothing quite as satisfying as harvesting your own crop of delicious homegrown potatoes, ideal for a variety of dishes ranging from salads to Sunday roasts.
Our premium range of seed potatoes are simple to cultivate in any environment, whether it be in garden beds or patio containers, with Early varieties such as Sharpe's Express or Charlotte being best suited to container growing.
Certified seed potatoes in the UK are assured to be disease-free tubers sourced from inspected stock provided by specialised suppliers. These potatoes adhere to rigorous standards for health and traceability, guaranteeing a strong foundation for you crop.
When purchasing your seed potatoes you will find that they are colour coded; blue represents First Earlies, orange signifies Second Earlies and green indicates Main Crop. First and Second Earlies will provide you with new potatoes during the summer, while Main Crops will yield tubers suitable for consumption in the autumn and sufficient quantities for winter storage for later use. Typically, First Earlies are ready for harvest in June or July, Second Earlies in July or August and Main Crops from August onwards, however, if intended for storage, they can be harvested in September or October.
Different potatoes have different properties with some being particularly good for boiling, some for chips and some for roasting.
