Its main standout feature is that it produces enormous blackcurrants – two to three times the size of other varieties. Developed especially for the fresh market, the fruit has a soft shiny skin and is extremely sweet – particularly so when eaten straight from the bush. Fruiting season is July. The bush’s height is typically around 1.5 metres.

Blackcurrants are easy to grow and if you are short on space they can even be grown in containers.  They prefer well drained moisture retentive soil that is in full sun, but will tolerate some light shade.
