What herbs and vegetables should I plant together?

Planting certain herbs and vegetables together can enhance growth and even provide natural protection against pests. For example, the strong scent of garlic chive helps deter carrot root fly, making it a great companion for carrots. Mint is another excellent choice, as it confuses pests that target carrots, tomatoes, alliums, and brassicas, while also keeping flea beetles at bay. Pairing these herbs with your vegetables not only boosts their health but also creates a more harmonious and productive garden. If you are looking for a ready-made organic solution to the pests in your garden, Iain in our garden centre also uses Bug Clear Ultra 2, as well as Bug Clear Fruit and Veg Ultra. These are made of rape seed oil & Chrysanthemum flower extract and are certified for use in fully organic gardens.
