Add Summer Colour With Kinder Young Plants

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE KINDER PLUG PLANTS SUPPLIES ARE NOW FINISHED FOR 2024.

After the long winter we are all eagerly awaiting signs of spring and looking forward to being able to get back out into our gardens.  Snowdrops and other spring bulbs are starting to appear and it is time to start planning ahead to a summer full of colour in containers, baskets and garden borders.  The first to arrive at Poplar, ahead of larger sized bedding plants is the range of Kinder young plants, which will set the wheels in motion for the coming seasons.

About the Kinder range

The top quality range of Kinder young plants are an excellent and economical way to create eye-catching displays.  Just a few plants in pots on a patio or balcony will add splashes of colour and texture and with so many varieties to choose from, perhaps consider popping a few plants into borders where there may be gaps, or even fill a whole border for a riot of colour!  Get creative with designing your own summer displays that will be the envy of all the neighbours!

For best results

The Kinder range is grown in high tech professional facilities that produce strong and healthy plants that are ready for potting on into larger cell trays or individually into small pots, depending on which varieties you have selected.  Use a good quality multi-purpose compost for this such as Westland Multi-Purpose that is enriched with nutrients to feed plants for the first four to five weeks after potting.  Ideally this should be done when the plant roots start growing through the net pot.

Grow the plants on in a sheltered environment such as a greenhouse, conservatory or windowsill, ideally in plenty of natural light with a temperature of 16 – 18 degrees C.  They can be turned regularly to avoid them becoming stretched.  The plants must be protected from cold weather and not planted out until all danger of frost has passed.  Watering should be carried out carefully when the surface of the compost starts to become dry.  Do not allow the plants to sit in water.

For full growing instructions, please pick up a leaflet in store when purchasing your Kinder plants and please do not hesitate to ask a member of our trained staff for assistance if you should require it.

Please note that these plants require protection from frost.
