Poplar Pride Golden Pale Ale
We are so excited to announce that we have teamed up with Pumphouse Brewery to create a Poplar branded golden ale.
Pumphouse are a community run, non-profit brewery based in the small north Essex village of Toppesfield.
The Pumphouse Community Brewery was established in 2015 with an aim to keep traditional ale production alive. It was the first co-operative community owned brewery in the country and is owned by more than eighty individuals. Aaron Osborne (their professional brewer) is responsible for production, but the rest of the day-to-day running is undertaken by a group of volunteers.
Established as a not-for-private-profit company, any surpluses achieved can only be used for reinvestment in the brewery or for distribution to the broader community.
The Pumphouse Brewery objectives are to produce good quality, good value traditional ales, to create employment opportunities in Toppesfield and to provide new volunteering opportunities, especially for the retired. As well as these, Pumphouse works closely with their neighbouring community owned pub, The Green Man, and with their community owned shop to make the village an attractive destination for visitors.
